Pastor Matthew Harrison
Pastor Harrison is originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, and grew up at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Jasonville, IN, during the pastorates of Pastor Robert Ross, and his son, Pastor Jerry Ross. At the age of 15, even though he had been in church his entire life, he realized his need to be saved, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour on December 15, 2004. Upon graduation from Blessed Hope Baptist School, he attended Commonwealth Baptist College in Lexington, KY, under the leadership of Dr. Jeff Fugate, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Theology in 2012. Then, in the fall of 2012, he attended Providence Baptist College in Elgin, IL, under the leadership of Dr. Keith Gomez, graduated, and received his Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies and Church Ministry in the spring of 2014.
Mrs. Natalie Harrison grew up attending the Northwest Bible Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Keith Gomez. It was during an ordinary Sunday morning service in February 2006 that the Holy Spirit moved in a special way, and she, along with over 100 other people in the church were saved and baptized that morning. After she graduated from high school, she also attended Providence Baptist College and received her Secretarial degree. It was not until the following year that she and her future husband met at the college there in the fall of 2012. Pastor Harrison and his wife Natalie were married in April 2014, and the Lord has blessed them with two wonderful children.
In 2020, after six years of being able to serve the Lord at Northwest Bible Baptist Church, the Lord moved them back to Indiana where Pastor Harrison grew up. It was in this church, right after Sunday School, on October 24, 2021, that the Lord called Pastor Harrison into the ministry. Shortly after that, Pastor Ross gave him some extra positions in the church to help train him for the ministry. In May 2024, Pastor Harrison received a phone call from the Minden Baptist Church (now known as the Blessed Hope Baptist Church of Minden) because they were in need of a pastor. Pastor Harrison and his family came down to candidate on June 9, 2024, and on the following Sunday, the church voted unanimously to call him to be their pastor. On Friday September 6, 2024, their moving van arrived at their new home in Louisiana, and they had their first Sunday as Pastor that next Sunday.
Since then, the Lord has blessed the church with souls being saved, baptized and added to the church. They are excited about the opportunity to serve the Lord here at Blessed Hope Baptist Church and are looking forward to what the Lord will have for the church in the future!
